In this first episode in our new podcast series on the history of genocide, Never Again…Again – The Ongoing History of Genocide JB Shreve and Brian Butler look at the definitions of genocide and the beginnings of the story. Genocide has existed for as long as human history has existed, even though we did not always call it that. The guys then take a deep dive into the first genocide of the 20th century. The Herero Genocide is not known by most people. That is a tragedy all too often associated with many stories of genocide. Many of the victims are forgotten and so are the crimes.

This history of genocide podcast series explores how nearly every culture and nation has been guilty of genocidal acts and atrocities over the course of history. It is all too easy for us to assume we would not commit the same sin if we were in the shoes of our predecessors. History proves that assumption is wrong and that is why genocide keeps occurring and we keep proclaiming Never Again…Again.
