I know it’s a strange question but when you search for famous black rulers in ancient history, you will find your search results render barely any actual results of famous black rulers and conquerors for the period that scholars identify as ancient history. Why? The answer to that question sheds light on our exploration of race in this section of the series on from JB Shreve & the End of History on The Politics of God.

I’m going to put a video of a screen capture I did for the exact search mentioned in this episode on the show notes so you can see what I’m talking about. It probably matches up with what you find on Google, but who knows? Maybe the algorithm will hear this podcast and change the search results.

We did not always look at one another through the framework of race. Humanity has always looked at one another through the framework of power, who has it, who does not have it, and how can I get more of it. Race is only the latest measure used to measure and distribute power in the long story of human history.

This graphic and other variations of it subtly taught us that higher evolution equals white people.
